Veterinary Imaging Specialists of Alaska VISA has provided your practice with a special ability to view images of your patient’s CT/MRI or fluoroscopy procedure on-line on our interactive Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS). PACS are designed for image storage and is widely used in human healthcare technology for the short and long term storage, retrieval, management, distribution and presentation of medical images and reports. We have adopted this technology for veterinary imaging.
Each referring veterinary practice will be able to access the images belonging to patients referred to us for imaging. Our marketing director will come to your facility and download the viewing software. We will provide the facility with a unique username and password which will be used by all the veterinarians in your practice. Referring veterinarians who are remote from the Anchorage area (i.e Juneau, Sitka) and who would like access to OPALRAD® can contact us and our IT technician will help you install the program. The short cut icon for OPALRAD® LOGIN (pictured below) will be located on your computer desktop.
To view your patient images or print the radiologist report, click the “OPALRAD® LOGIN” desk top icon (shown above) to enter your username and password. Once you have entered your information you will be taken to a list of ALL patients referred from your facility. Click on patient name and view the images of your choice. If you would like to print a copy of the radiologists report click on the green “R” to view and then print to your designated printer.
We hope you will find this feature fun and exciting!
