Originally from England, Toni was received her degree in Radiologic Technology in 1977 from Canada College in Redwood City, California, bringing 40 plus years of medical imaging experience to Veterinary Imaging Specialists of Alaska.
After graduation she worked as a staff technologist and senior special procedures technologist at Seton Medical Center in California. In 1986 she moved to Texas and began a long career in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) starting as a staff technologist with a company specializing in mobile MRI which then led to a position as International Applications specialist for Health Images in Atlanta. She has been performing MRI ever since and now adds CT to her skills.
After arriving Anchorage for “temporary position” as an MRI technologist for Providence Medical center, she teamed up with a group of fellow technologist and radiologist as a founding partner of Alaska Open Imaging a successful, independent imaging group ,(now owned by Imaging Associate of Providence)
Imaging animals has long been a dream for Toni, finally, 15 years since arriving in Alaska, after many years of searching for the right partners and watching the field of veterinary imaging emerge and grow as a valuable diagnostic tool for veterinarians she and her partners decided that the time was right to introduce advanced imaging technology to Alaska’ veterinarians and the pet-owners across the state.
Toni is the owner of a recue dog, Lola, a tiny Yorkie who rules the roost at her home in Anchorage! Lola has brought Toni a great deal of joy since she arrived and now she can’t imagine life without her furry little house-mate!
Toni is an avid reader and currently is the Youth Exchange Chair for Anchorage International Rotary Club. She is also member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists and is a registered technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
